Sneaky Christmas
This is the time where things should be slowing down... Work should be less, so I could do some shopping, prepare the house for Christmas and relax a little bit.
But instead, everything goes crazy. All the work I wished for during the year lands urgently on my lap. No, I'm not complaining at all... having piles of work to do this is what I aim for, and I love what I do.
It's just that Christmas doesn't wait for anybody, and I feel it creeping in everyday and I'm getting late on the preparations. Last year this happened and I didn't send Christmas cards to anybody. It's December already and this year's cards are still nowhere to be seen.
Then, there is the Christmas tree. That is really urgent. It should be there looking at me, telling me the day is just around the corner. I need it as a constant reminder that presents need to be bought sometime before the 24th, however busy I am.
I visited a friends' house last Sunday and they already had a huge Christmas tree in their living room, all lit up and decorated. They are coming over this weekend, so I set myself the deadline. No matter what, I will have my little pink tree up, waiting for them in the living room.
